Yesterday, a reader revealed that they discovered a particularly mysterious female county magistrate.
How mysterious? On the local government’s official website, the female county magistrate’s birthdate, place of origin, education, when she started working, and when she joined the Communist Party, and other basic information are not disclosed. The website only has her name and photo. The resume only tells everyone that she is the deputy secretary of the county party committee and the county magistrate.
There’s a female county magistrate like this? I don’t quite believe it.
In recent years, some local government websites have indeed been quietly simplifying the resumes of local officials. I’ve asked a few places, and they claim that there is a new document from their superiors on “appropriately disclosing the resumes of cadres,” but not a single place can produce this so-called new document. However, what can be publicly found is the “Government Information Disclosure Regulations,” which require “disclosure as the norm and non-disclosure as the exception.” Therefore, I believe that the current significant simplification of officials’ resumes is purely to evade social supervision.
But even with simplification, most places currently also need to announce officials’ age, ethnicity, place of origin, education, party affiliation, gender, and other basic information. It’s very rare to not announce anything, only announcing the name and current position. As a senior observer of current affairs, I haven’t encountered such a case in the past two years.
Following the reader’s guidance, I logged onto the official website of the Zhushan County People’s Government of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, and found that, as the reader reflected, Zhushan County Magistrate Wang Liyuan really did not disclose her age, ethnicity, education, and other basic information.
Wang Liyuan’s official resume only includes her current position.
Wang Liyuan’s actions are unique and different. I have a basis for saying this.
Looking horizontally, the county magistrates of other counties and districts in Shiyan City have all announced their age, education, and other basic information, but only Wang Liyuan has not. The fact that other county magistrates have announced their basic information while only Wang Liyuan has not, clearly indicates that it is not the heads of other county and district governments in Shiyan who have violated regulations by disclosing their age, education, and other information, but rather Wang Liyuan and the departments and officials responsible for information disclosure in Zhushan County who have violated regulations by concealing the basic information that Wang should have disclosed.

Looking vertically, the governor of Hubei Province and the mayor of Shiyan City have both announced their age, education, and other basic information. Wang Liyuan’s failure to be consistent with the administrative heads of the superior people’s governments is also very inappropriate. In their own words, not being consistent with superiors is a sign of not following the rules.

The most interesting thing is that, from within the Zhushan County government, the other 8 deputy county magistrates have all disclosed their age, ethnicity, time of joining the party, time of joining the workforce, and other information to varying degrees. Only Wang Liyuan, among all the administrative heads of the Zhushan County People’s Government, has concealed her age, education, and other basic information.

Only Wang Liyuan in the entire Zhushan County government has not disclosed her basic information.
This Wang Liyuan is really too mysterious. Truly mysterious, the word “mysterious” doesn’t even need quotation marks!
Searching for Wang Liyuan, there is only one piece of public information related to her personal information: On July 25, 2021, the county-level leading cadre meeting was held in Zhushan County, Shiyan City. The Organization Department of the Shiyan Municipal Party Committee announced the decision of the Municipal Party Committee: Wang Liyuan was appointed as a member, standing committee member, and deputy secretary of the CPC Zhushan County Committee, and nominated as a candidate for the county magistrate of the Zhushan County People’s Government.
Wang Liyuan’s concealment of personal age, education, and other basic information, not being consistent with other county magistrates, nor with the heads of the superior provincial and municipal governments, and also not being consistent with her own deputy county magistrates, I can assert that this is a very abnormal situation.
Wang Liyuan began serving as the county magistrate of Zhushan County in the summer of 2021. She has not disclosed her personal information in accordance with regulations for more than four years. However, such an abnormal situation has not been supervised by anyone or corrected by any department for more than four years, which is also very abnormal.
In the current environment, officials are very afraid of being different from other officials, especially female cadres, who are even more afraid of standing out and attracting attention. However, Wang Liyuan is not afraid at all, and insists on being different from her colleagues, different from her superiors, and even different from her subordinates. Why is she so willful?
Under the eyes of the public, in the open, Wang Liyuan deliberately conceals all personal information, openly violating the information disclosure regulations. Such an abnormal situation has not been supervised by anyone or corrected by any institution for several years, which is perplexing.
