Cross Talk | Why Transgender People Should Study Party History More

When I was in elementary school, my favorite class was ideological and political education, because the teacher would quickly finish the textbook content and then tell us Greek mythology stories. At that time, I only felt that ideological and political education was an optional subject.

In junior high school, the content of ideological and political education became current affairs and current events. Because there were no teachers telling Greek mythology stories, I only felt it was boring and uninteresting. Anyway, I just memorized the key points for the exam.

Then, like most children, I felt that ideological and political education was just formalism, a boring and tedious class, and I had to write several big books of antonyms, so I have always kept my distance from ideological and political education and from joining the party.

It wasn’t until I graduated from university, dared to be gendered, started doing transgender public welfare, successfully changed my academic record, and made many attempts to call for the resolution of the academic problems of the transgender group, and experienced so many things, that I unknowingly passed the age of forty, that I really began to have a deeper understanding of our party and our country.

Our country is becoming more and more stable and prosperous, and everyone feels that everything is taken for granted now, so more and more people have no concept of the party. In fact, in those years, under the leadership of Chairman Mao, from building the base in the countryside, to winning the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea to defend the country, and then to the unprecedented century of turmoil in the world, it was truly the people’s party, and our country has always been a people’s democratic dictatorship country. On our way forward, there have been countless confusions and phased failures, and the party and the country have always been leading us step by step towards a better life and steadily realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Admittedly, there have been many pains in the process of development, but I think our country has a strong error correction mechanism. Chairman Mao himself was very good at learning from failures and dialectically summarizing gains and losses. Although there are some historical policies that are criticized, we have never stopped moving forward. In a true sense, it is a process of self-correction and self-revolution. Because of the hard work of the Mao Zedong era, we have today’s development results. The greatest contribution of Chairman Mao’s death is that he will continue to spur self-criticism. It is because our country is so big, and everyone has long lived with the worries of the people like Chairman Mao, that it will openly become formalistic.

However, as a transgender group, we still suffer from huge social discrimination and injustice, and we can better know that freedom and equality have not been fully realized. We can better recognize that there are still many injustices in society that need us to solve. We are more likely to see problems, and we are more willing to solve them. The power of faith lacks some guidance, so we should especially study party history, so that we can more deeply understand the advanced nature of the party, and then become an assistant to the party and the country. Why is there a sense of detachment now? On the one hand, because our country is in the process of development, although it has not been long since we got rid of feudal ideas, multicultural education has not kept up with the public’s cultural satisfaction, and social acceptance needs to be done step by step; on the other hand, because we are too few in number, and because we are discriminated against and dare not show up, we are scattered in society and have almost no way to organize ourselves, so I really think that our transgender group has a lot of understanding of the country and the party, and may have ignored us in the system and policy. And some Western countries are indeed further ahead of our country on the issue of sexual minorities, so there will be some phenomena of “technical poverty alleviation”, but on the other hand, it is also easier to be used by the West as a tool for ideological confrontation.

Therefore, the solution is that we spontaneously establish a Chinese folk community, dedicated to solving the internal problems of the Chinese transgender group, focusing on tackling the difficulties within our own group, uniting the internal contradictions of the people, and taking our own path of the transgender group with Chinese characteristics. This is the direction we should strive for, and it is our plan to “stabilize the people and stabilize the two hands” of the party and the country. Through our efforts, we can win the trust of the party, and then formulate more friendly policies to further help us solve more problems and form a virtuous cycle.

All of the above content comes from my heart. If you look at my Moments, you will know that I have actually started studying party history a long time ago. Party history is not only boring, but also very interesting. How Chairman Mao led the party from the weakest seed to defeat strong enemies and grow stronger today. It is not only relying on ideological education, but also indispensable for economics, military, and power strategy. The real historical essence and experience are fascinating.

There is a video series on Bilibili that talks about party history, striving to tell the most authentic history, which is very worth watching. I highly recommend it to everyone: search for “Theme Wei Shi Laboratory Collection “Internal Problems in Party History””.
