On July 31, 2025, an attack on a Japanese mother and child occurred in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.

In Suzhou, a Chinese man attacked a Japanese school bus with a knife in June 2024, injuring a Japanese mother and child.
In that incident, a Chinese female school bus attendant who tried to stop the attacker was stabbed and died after being sent to the hospital.

China has designated 2025 as an important milestone for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
On July 31, a Chinese-made film “731”, which depicts the old Japanese army’s “Kwantung Army Epidemic Prevention and Water Supply Department (Unit 731)”, was originally scheduled to be released.
However, it has not yet been confirmed that the film will be released in Chinese cinemas, and it may have been postponed.
