I thought this was a commendation meeting.

The incident of the six college students’ deaths is not mentioned here at all. Their stories are summarized and hidden by “currently in a state of suspension,” and are murdered again.

Of course, this is an announcement from a listed company, and its purpose is to reassure shareholders and prove that the company’s profitability is not a problem.

But we can still read complete indifference from this announcement. The message it conveys is nothing more than: those six lives will not have any impact on the company’s profits.

They may be right. Because the lives of Chinese people, especially those college students, are “cheap.”

If it were in some countries, even with insurance, if the company is proven to have safety loopholes and responsibilities, each person would be compensated tens of millions of dollars. The six lives would be calculated, and the company’s “profits” would be gone.

So companies in those countries will also be very careful. They have a bottom line, and thus they have no “confidence.”

I just want to analyze from a linguistic perspective: Can a company that can use so many positive words to describe a responsibility accident avoid the next accident?

What is “drowned” is not only the six lives of college students whose lives have not yet unfolded, but also the Chinese language that each of us uses. What kind of minds will such language create?
