Lan Guofeng | Not only should we see who has been caught, but we must keep catching until there are none left

I just saw the news about “He Yong, Director of the Shanxi Branch of People’s Daily, being investigated.” It makes me think that in the current environment, it wouldn’t be surprising no matter which level of leading cadre is investigated. What’s surprising isn’t why so many officials are being investigated, but rather, who hasn’t been investigated and how many officials who should be investigated haven’t been? This leads me to think of the following points:

1. Fundamentally, regardless of the level of official, who wants to be investigated, imprisoned, or killed? The question is, if you don’t want to, will you not be investigated, imprisoned, or killed?

2. In my opinion, whether you will be investigated, imprisoned, or killed doesn’t depend on whether someone reports you, or whether the discipline inspection and judicial organs handle the case according to law, but on whether you are clean, honest, and law-abiding.

3. Whether they are flies, tigers, or umbrellas, quite a few have been photographed, beaten, and caught. This is enough to attract the high attention of every official. Otherwise, one day, you will be the one who is photographed, beaten, and caught;

4. Facts show that no matter what level of leading cadre you are, and no matter how smart you are, your actions basically do not exceed the existing cognitive scope of human beings. In other words, no individual can fight against the power, wisdom, and ability of the organization. Unless you are really clean. Otherwise, it’s not that there will be no retribution, but the time has not come;

5. So many have been caught, it should make those officials who haven’t been caught understand what they should do and what they shouldn’t do. In other words, in order to protect their own future from being investigated, they should come up with some ways to protect their own safety. This protection is not to make you play tricks, but to quickly formulate a fair, complete, and transparent mechanism to fundamentally avoid the occurrence of various corrupt behaviors. Otherwise, it will inevitably be “those who do evil will perish by their own hands” and “one misstep leads to eternal regret”;

6. It can be affirmed that the governance in the future will be more and more strict. Neither the state nor the people will allow officials to continue to wantonly seek personal gain with power, abandon public affairs for private gain, and make a fortune;

7. So many officials have been caught, have you ever thought about how much unfairness and abnormality they have created? And when will these unfairness and abnormalities begin to be addressed?

8. So many officials have been caught, it’s not that they were just caught when they committed the crime, but that it was caused by long-term behavior. Then, do the discipline inspection, petitioning, and even the leaders of the superiors at the same level as the arrested have any responsibility? What kind of responsibility? Should they be held seriously accountable?

9. So many officials have been caught, which is both the achievement of anti-corruption and the problem of governance. How to prevent corruption from the source? Is there really no good prescription? If there is, why are you unwilling to implement it?

10. Fundamentally, only when everyone is highly responsible for their own future and destiny will they be highly responsible for their work, society, and the people. Otherwise, they say one thing and do another. It won’t last long;

11. The times and human affairs are urging each other, forcing the government to act. If you are still muddling along, you will definitely be in big trouble in the future;

12. We need change, we should change, we must change. Only fundamental change will prevent us from continuing to fall into the big pits of Yin, Xia, Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and the former Soviet Union;

13. …
