The number of newborns in China continues to decline, from a peak of over 28 million to less than 10 million. The latest data shows that the number of births in 2023 was 9.02 million.
This figure is already lower than the most difficult years of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and even lower than the period of the three years of “natural disasters”!
