On September 20, a penalty notice from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice circulated online. The document shows that Beijing lawyer Zhang Qingfang is to be revoked of his lawyer’s practice certificate.

The Chen Shuqing case tried by the Haikou Intermediate Court, Zhang Qingfang “made a big fuss” in the Haikou Intermediate Court and was escorted out of the court by the bailiffs. The reason was: Zhang Qingfang accepted the defendant’s entrustment, but was told that the court did not allow the lawyer to be changed.
A bribery case in Neijiang, Sichuan. Zhang Qingfang found that the judge in charge had offered bribes and raised objections in court, causing the collegiate bench to adjourn the court. Afterwards, he exposed the academic fraud of the leaders of the Neijiang Discipline Inspection Commission and the gambling of the case handlers online, which was called “grave-digging defense”. In a criminal case in Yingtan, the defendant was assigned two legal aid lawyers. Zhang Qingfang claimed to be the lawyer entrusted by the family members, but he never saw the defendant. For this reason, he offered a reward of one million to collect clues about the crimes of legal aid lawyers.
