On May 26, multiple social media accounts posted that a bridge in Taiyuan, Shanxi, had a warning sign that read “Cherish life, no jumping into the river, violators will be fined 1,000 yuan.”

A staff member from the relevant department of Taiyuan city responded to the Jimu News reporter that they have noticed the information about “fining for jumping into the river” online and are verifying it.
A netizen responded to the Jimu News reporter that the video of “fining for jumping into the river” was purely for entertainment and was self-directed and acted, so don’t take it seriously.

Someone posted that a warning sign of “fining for jumping into the river” was hung locally (social platform screenshot) On the 26th, multiple social media accounts posted that someone hung a warning sign on a local bridge that read “Cherish life, no jumping into the river, violators will be fined 1,000 yuan.” The reporter inquired about the specific situation of a netizen in Taiyuan who posted the screenshot information of “fining for jumping into the river”, but the other party did not explain and then deleted the information.

On April 20, a netizen marked “self-directed and acted” in the video (video screenshot) A staff member from the relevant department of Taiyuan city said that the local authorities have monitored the above information online, because there are many bridges in Taiyuan, and they are verifying the situation of the warning sign. In addition, the reporter searched for the keyword “fining for jumping into the river” on multiple social platforms, and a “friendly reminder” sign in a video posted by a netizen on April 20 this year was consistent with the above warning sign. The reporter privately messaged the netizen to inquire about the specific shooting time, location, and background of the short video, and the other party replied that “the video was purely for entertainment and was self-directed and acted, so don’t take it seriously.” As of the time of publication, the reporter found that the netizen’s video could no longer be displayed.
