They are a couple of students who came out of rural Henan. They worked hard for several years and finally took out a loan in Zhengzhou to buy an apartment, had a baby, and looked forward to settling down.
However, the house they bought was unfinished and the construction stopped.
But the heavy mortgage still has to be paid every month.
Then, there was a pay cut…
You can clearly feel that the light that once shone in Liju’s eyes has disappeared.
Originally, it was already very, very sad to get to this point… Unexpectedly, there were even more heartbreaking encounters.
Due to the promised follow-up plan for the unfinished building not being fulfilled, Liju and Liangliang went to the developer’s company to inquire about the progress and were beaten.
I really can’t find the words to describe the complex feelings when I saw this scene…
Compare the Liju and Liangliang who had light in their eyes when they just bought the house, and the two ‘troublemakers’ who were driven away and beaten after the unfinished building rights protection, and you can better understand the visible harm and insult.
Yes, it is harm, but more importantly, it is an insult.
They are harming the most hardworking and obedient group of people in this society, and they are insulting the most trusting and optimistic group of people in this city.
They are trampling on the most precious sense of belonging and confidence on this land.
Liju and Liangliang believe

They are a particularly typical post-90s generation who have moved from rural areas to big cities. When they first graduated, they had nothing but love, and their families couldn’t provide support. Everything depended on the couple working together. Liangliang ‘moved bricks’ at the construction site for several years and bought the first car. After paying off the car loan, the couple saved up the down payment through hard work and frugality for several years. Then, they paid the mortgage while saving money for baby formula.
When talking about these achievements, Liju said happily to the camera: My husband is awesome!
I can feel the overflowing happiness through the screen. From having nothing to having a car, a house, and a child in a big city, it’s all about two words: hard work.
As long as you work hard, life will get better and better. This is the life creed of tens of millions of post-80s and post-90s, including Liju and Liangliang, and it is also the unbreakable truth in the rapid urbanization process in China over the past few decades.
Until, they used their years of savings to buy a pre-sale house in Zhengzhou that was built on a sand table.

Zhengzhou, how good it is. As the most developed city in the central province, it is a perfect choice for Liju and Liangliang, who were born in a small county town in Henan. Affordable housing prices, the ability to obtain a household registration, and many more job opportunities than in their hometown. Rooting in this big city, although it is a bit tiring, there is a future!
In the second decade of the 21st century, the permanent population of Zhengzhou increased by nearly a million, most of whom were young people like Liju and Liangliang who worked hard.
They cast a vote of confidence in Zhengzhou with their youth and future, believing that the city’s development will get better and better, wages will increase year by year, the city will become more and more beautiful, and the houses they buy will appreciate year by year.
Until, they found that many colleagues and friends around them had bought new houses that became unfinished buildings.

If it’s just the unfinished building, the problem is not that big. In Liju and Liangliang’s video, it can be clearly seen that even after discovering that the house they bought had obvious signs of being unfinished, they quickly regained their confidence after a period of panic. They believe that such a big thing, involving so many families, the country will not stand idly by, and the government will not ignore it.
Later, they really saw signs of the building’s resumption of work at the construction site.
Later, they also found those people who appeared at the unfinished building construction site were extras. In 2023, similar plots were staged in Zhengzhou, in Hefei, and also in my hometown, Huangshi…
Of course, they can only choose to believe. Because people like Liju and Liangliang who do not believe and go to rights protection will be beaten out.
On November 17, two days after the video of the rights protection being beaten was deleted, Liju and Liangliang updated a new content.
The matter of the unfinished building may take some time to resolve, but the matter of negative public opinion will not take a day to resolve. I think the relevant departments in Zhengzhou certainly know how to choose.
I think everyone can see from Liju and Liangliang’s expressions and eyes that they are very satisfied.
