Recently, a video about a rural girl named “Tutu” has attracted attention. The video claims that “Tutu” is the 10th child in the family, and she suffered from underarm ulcers shortly after birth, and her family’s living conditions are quite poor.

On the 13th, a Red Star News reporter contacted the video uploader, who said that “Tutu”‘s family lives in a village in Daqingzui Town, Dehui City, Changchun City, Jilin Province, and the aforementioned video is “a video from a long time ago.” Currently, “Tutu” is in good condition.

On the same day, two local villagers confirmed to the Red Star News reporter that there is indeed a family in the village who has given birth to multiple children. Some villagers said that the couple are both from this village, “(Previously) they may have had ten children, with six remaining, (because) some died.”

On November 14th, a local village cadre told the Red Star News reporter that the family mentioned in the aforementioned video, the father of the children is 59 years old and the mother is over 40; the mother is indeed from this village and has intellectual disabilities, and has a disability certificate. According to the village cadre, the couple currently have 6 children, some of whom have intellectual disabilities, “It is true that some (children died), but I am not sure how many in total. Their family used to live by the river, and they would bathe the children in the river. The husband would catch fish and sell them.”

Regarding the issue of “Tutu”‘s underarm ulcers in the online video, the village cadre said that “Tutu” has now recovered her health.

“Their family is now in the center of the village, and they used to live in the river bend.” The local village cadre introduced, “They have government assistance and subsidies.” Regarding the family’s fertility situation, the village cadre said: “There’s no way to persuade them. They haven’t had birth control yet.”

Red Star News reporters noticed that there are multiple video accounts visiting and filming “Tutu”‘s family. The short video blogger “Happy Xiaobiao Di’er” account, which has nearly 50,000 followers, has multiple videos featuring “Tutu” as the main character. On November 14th, the blogger held “Tutu” and live-streamed the sale of goods. The reporter tried to contact the blogger, but the phone was unanswered.

In addition, the short video account “Sister Yan’s Family” mainly films the situation of “Tutu”‘s family and has 29,000 followers; the account “Yuqinger” has a profile that says “Focus on the family with 10 children” and has 14,000 followers. Villagers from the same village mentioned the internet celebrities who visited “Tutu”‘s family, saying, “They (Tutu’s family) are very popular online, and the bloggers also take them out to eat.”

In response, the local village cadre said: “Many internet celebrities give them things, but they only eat a few bites and throw them away. They clean up their house, but after a few days, it’s the same. Those internet celebrities mainly come to give them some things and clean up the house, that’s all.”
