On May 27, 2022, we wrote the inaugural article “We Still Urgently Need Just, Steadfast, and Serious Speech”;
On May 25, 2023, “Yuexiu Mountain Side” was permanently banned!
For almost a whole year, we published a total of 206 original articles, including special articles, dialogues, and discussions, with the content mainly focusing on local people’s livelihood, health and epidemic prevention, and urban public management issues.
In the inaugural article, we once said: “We look forward to, and also believe that, more Guangzhou citizens will observe Guangzhou’s public affairs, and express their opinions and suggestions for the construction of Guangzhou.” Today, looking back at these articles, the problem situations are vivid, we can only say that we have done our best, and we have a clear conscience.
Thank you for your sincere companionship! Without you, “Yuexiu Mountain Side” is just a little-used path.
At the same time, we also regret to say to you, “Yuexiu Mountain Side” will no longer be reincarnated; the backup account “Yuexiu Mountain Under” which was launched on January 4 this year will also be suspended indefinitely.
The abrupt end may indeed be regrettable. Social life is constantly surging, there are always some things that need public attention, and there are always some voices that need to be conveyed. We believe that in the days without “Yuexiu Mountain Side”, there will still be people who will pay attention and speak out.

We have paid attention to many things, and in all the articles, we have also left the common concerns of the readers, among which the encouragement and deep affection for us are deeply touching.
In the period after October last year in Guangzhou, we received a large number of letters for help from citizens. We have carefully replied to almost every request for help, and to the extent possible, we have reported it to relevant institutions through our channels. Looking back, what makes us most gratified to this day is that in most cases, many specific problems that we have published and reflected have been resolved to a considerable extent.

Originally, according to the plan, “Yuexiu Mountain Side” would have traffic fees, advertising fees, and reader rewards, and it should have basically been able to have self-hematopoietic function after a year.
Unfortunately, there is no “should” now.

Looking far from a high place, Guangzhou has not only Yuexiu Mountain, but also Baiyun Mountain, Maofeng Mountain, and Lotus Mountain… The mountains are stacked, and the streams are flowing. “When you reach the foot of the mountain ahead, the clear stream flows out of the front village”, I hope to encourage readers.
