NBD | A 64-year-old man faked his ID to reduce his age by 7 years to work at a construction site

According to a report from Dongfang.com on February 27, police from Pudong, Shanghai, arrested a person using a forged ID card during a routine inspection by the Nicheng Police Station of the Pudong Public Security Bureau.

Early on February 10, officers from the Nicheng Police Station, as usual, went to a construction site on Xuri Road in the jurisdiction to check the post-holiday employment situation and register new employees in the dormitory. After investigation, it was found that the ID card used by a man named Fan Moumou did not match his personal information.

The next day, the police revisited the construction site and questioned Fan Moumou. Fan Moumou claimed that the ID card he used was his own. However, the attentive police officers noticed that Fan Moumou’s eyes were constantly darting around while holding the ID card. Subsequently, after multiple comparisons of Fan Moumou’s ID card information, the police confirmed that he was using a fake ID.

After interrogation at the police station, the police learned that Fan Moumou was born in 1958, making him 64 years old. To make it easier to find work, he had a fake ID card made through an acquaintance in his hometown, which made him appear 7 years younger than his actual age. Unexpectedly, he was discovered by the police after only two days of working at the construction site with the fake ID.

Currently, Fan Moumou has been given an administrative penalty by the Pudong police for using a forged resident ID card. The police will further investigate the relevant clues regarding the production of the fake ID.

The Pudong police stated that they have always attached great importance to cases involving illegal activities using resident ID cards and reminded citizens not to harbor any illusions of trying to “deceive the authorities.”
