The author is a writer in exile who specializes in speaking out for the underprivileged. After the “June Fourth Incident”, in order to mourn the dead, he planned to film the movie “Requiem”, and as a result, the entire crew (more than ten people) were arrested by the Chongqing National Security Bureau. He himself was imprisoned for 4 years on the charge of “counter-revolutionary propaganda and incitement” (the authorities let him out of prison early due to strong pressure from the international community). He is called the “publisher killer” – once a publisher publishes his book, it is mostly subject to rectification by the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee.
