“Li Rui’s Oral History” is a memoir dictated by Chinese politician Li Rui, recording his decades-long political career and personal experiences inside and outside the Communist Party of China. Li Rui is a well-known dissident within the Chinese Communist Party, known for his outspokenness. He served as Mao Zedong’s secretary and had unique perspectives and experiences during the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution.
