It feels weird.
I just saw that Sichuan University was trending on the hot search again. I clicked in and found out that this was still gossip about our college.

I graduated from the School of Manufacturing at Sichuan University, which was later renamed the School of Mechanical Engineering. I went back to my alma mater last year and found that the college had changed its name, and the college building was also getting more and more luxurious.

The gossip is that doctoral and master’s students at the School of Mechanical Engineering of Sichuan University jointly reported their doctoral supervisor, Wang Zhuqing.

An 83-page report exposed the supervisor’s alleged academic misconduct, misappropriation of funds, and issues of teacher ethics and conduct.
But I see the students’ reports, such as tampering with data, fabricating experimental processes, submitting multiple papers, data falsification, and improper authorship. These problems are indeed principled problems, but the reality is that this is not very common in many places?
There are also reports about the supervisor’s company’s financial problems. The students only found suspected serious financial problems, and the amount was only 60,000 yuan. This amount doesn’t seem high.
There are also supervisors who frequently attack students personally, saying things like ‘get out of the lab’, ‘delay graduation’, and ‘ban from the entire industry’. They also ask students to write self-criticisms and expel graduate students from the lab.
It feels like this is nothing new. I’ve seen a lot of people sleeping with students, and there are many students working for their supervisors. It’s nothing new. It’s even less sensitive to be scolded a few times.
They also asked the students to move into the newly renovated office space, which had formaldehyde, peculiar smells, noise, and pests. Uh, the impact of this report is a bit small. This should be reported to the people in the school who are in charge of this project.
Back then, I did experiments in the lab in this building. I remember clearly that the measuring cylinder I used had a section cut off at the top, and the scale below could still be used, so I kept using it, and I didn’t get it replaced.
Finally, the students reported that the teacher had problems with his political stance. The examples they cited were that the supervisor set the opening ceremony of the 2024 China-Japan-Korea International Conference on September 18 and made pro-Japanese remarks.
Just this hat of being pro-Japanese is enough for this teacher to be in trouble. But what’s the big problem with these things? The international conference of China, Japan, and South Korea needs to coordinate the time of the participants from China, Japan, and South Korea, and it’s just an academic conference. The School of Mechanical Engineering of Sichuan University is doing research, not fighting.
I looked at the resume of this supervisor. He studied in Japan and obtained a doctorate, and he also worked at a university in Japan for many years, and he has already obtained permanent residency. He can go to Sichuan University, and he should also be hired by Sichuan University. If he can bring back advanced scientific research technology from Japan, this can also promote the scientific and technological progress of our country.

I just read the first page of the report they wrote, and I felt a little embarrassed.
I don’t understand the academic aspects, so I’ll leave it to the school to investigate. If there is indeed academic fraud, I support serious handling.
But the content of the next few reports feels a bit weird.
The report said that the supervisor’s company had serious financial problems, and the expenses were only 60,000 yuan. A doctoral supervisor can easily manipulate the research funds and it wouldn’t be just this much money.
The report said that the teacher made personal attacks, scolded students, and expelled graduate students from the lab. This feels like he has a bit of a temper. Students are not the students of the 1980s and 1990s. They have been held in the palm of their hands since they were young. They are still being pointed at and scolded by their teachers in the graduate stage. It’s really hard to accept.
But I think this report doesn’t have much impact, at least it’s not as bad as sleeping with students.
There is also the hat of being pro-Japanese on the supervisor. I feel even more ridiculous. Just saying that Japan is good, and saying that there are political tendencies. As students of the School of Mechanical Engineering, you should understand that Japan is worth learning from in this field.
The supervisor usually asks you to learn from the strengths of others. You don’t study hard, but you record the supervisor’s words and deeds at any time. Do you think the supervisor is a walking 500,000, and do you always study with the mentality of catching spies?
And this teacher also @ everyone saying that the students are mentally ill, don’t worry.

And even sue the students for defamation.
Currently, Sichuan University has started an investigation.
But I feel that these junior and younger sisters are probably heartbroken by graduation and are determined to fight their supervisor to the death.
But these junior and younger brothers are still too young. I feel that apart from the academic accusations that I don’t understand, the other accusations: embezzling 60,000 yuan, scolding students, delaying graduation, the office has formaldehyde noise rats, and being pro-Japanese, are not particularly impactful.
Don’t look at the 83 pages written, but adding these trivial things will only dilute the power of the main accusations.
In view of the fact that many things are now being reversed, especially the impact brought by Zhang Wei from Sichuan University, this matter may not be that simple at the moment. The onlookers should be patient and wait.
Let the bullets fly for a while.
The end
