Unbelievable, it’s 2025, and this kind of thing is still happening.
Recently, Yanfei Brick Factory in Linxiang City, Yueyang, Hunan, was exposed by Shangguan Zhengyi for long-term control of multiple people with suspected intellectual disabilities to move bricks through outsourced foremen. They have to move bricks for 12 hours a day in a high-temperature environment of 40 degrees Celsius, with no days off throughout the year. There are no labor protection measures, and they are only given painkillers when they get sick.
What’s more outrageous is that the foremen withhold their ID cards and use violence to restrict their freedom. Moreover, they say the salary is 300 yuan a day, but in reality, they only provide meals.
No money, no freedom, forced high-intensity labor, what is this? This is slavery. The treatment of black slaves in the US before was better than this.

It is understood that these workers mostly come from remote areas bordering Yunnan and Guizhou, aged 40-50, and the foremen hide their identities by changing their names. They use the excuse of picking them up on the roadside to transfer these slaves.
Finally, it was Shangguan Zhengyi who reported it, and the police quickly rescued these intellectually disabled people and controlled the person in charge of the brick factory and the foremen.
The strange thing is that within 20 minutes of the police being called, someone drove away and transferred these people. Why is this?
If it weren’t for the news reports, who would believe that there are still people doing slave labor now.
Abducting a few intellectually disabled people, exploiting their labor, moving bricks really doesn’t require much intelligence, just physical strength, and working hard. One person earns 300 yuan a day, which can exploit 9,000 yuan a month. Five people can exploit 45,000 yuan a month. They can earn more than 500,000 yuan a year.
If these slave laborers die, throwing them on the roadside is a missing person.
Now I understand why some people specialize in abducting people with intellectual disabilities. They can also squeeze out so much profit.
Just like telecom fraud wants to abduct people who can use electronic products, black brick kilns like to abduct people with intellectual disabilities.
As long as there is profit, they dare to trample on all laws.
I remember the black brick kiln case in Hongtong, Shanxi before, and in 2011, the Henan reporter Cui Songwang, disguised as a beggar, went undercover in a black brick kiln and rescued 30 people with intellectual disabilities.
History does not repeat itself, but it always rhymes. No one does business at a loss, but someone does business that involves beheading.
Also last year, a man from Guizhou went out to work and disappeared for 18 years. As a result, he was illegally detained by a black brick kiln. Because he was sick, he was paralyzed and incontinent and couldn’t work, so he was thrown out.

He said that there were 31 other people in the factory who were also slave laborers. It also caused widespread concern at the time, but what happened later? Were those 31 people rescued? I haven’t seen any follow-up yet.
I sighed at the time, it’s 2024, and this kind of thing still happens?
Now I sigh again, I didn’t expect that it’s 2025, and these things still happen. If I didn’t emphasize it, I might have thought it was 1925.
As long as there is profit, someone will definitely try to exploit this path until this black industrial chain is perfected.
Human trafficking is not just for women and children, everyone can be trafficked. Some people may sigh that they are useless, but in the eyes of human traffickers, you are very useful, both the whole and the parts are useful.
This matter can be exposed because of Shangguan Zhengyi. He often exposes some cases of human trafficking, making many things now have to be exposed by internet celebrities. For example, the problem of water pollution, some people ask Yulie Qige to expose it. It feels like the relevant departments are not as effective as internet celebrities.
This kind of thing still exists now, this is truly the tragedy of this era. How can we prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again?
