Hello everyone, we are Huang and Li. Due to placing rainbow flags in the school supermarket, we were disciplined by the school in July 2022. We did not accept the school’s disciplinary decision and successively submitted written appeals to the Hogwarts University Student Appeals Committee and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.
In October, we received the “Reply Opinion Letter on Student Appeals” issued by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, which continued to uphold Hogwarts’ disciplinary decision. We were not satisfied and chose to apply for administrative review to the Ministry of Magic in November.
In early February 2023, we finally received the “Ministry of Magic Administrative Review Decision” (the full text of the review decision received by Huang can be viewed in the attached tweet of this tweet). The review decision rejected our administrative review application on the grounds that our administrative review application was not within the scope of administrative review.

The Ministry of Magic rejected our review application instead of upholding the reply opinion letter of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. In other words, the Ministry of Magic did not conduct a substantive review of our review application, but directly rejected our review application from a procedural perspective, which is equivalent to not accepting it.
We do not accept the “Ministry of Magic Administrative Review Decision” and choose to continue to sue the Ministry of Magic. This case has been filed in the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court on February 20, 2023.

Half a year has passed since we were disciplined, and according to school rules, our discipline has expired and been lifted. But the fact that we were disciplined for placing rainbow flags is still a fact. Therefore, after experiencing the school appeal, the Municipal Education Commission appeal, and the Ministry of Magic administrative review, we still have to go down the road of litigation.
