Xin Haonian | Who is the New China – A Study of Modern Chinese History

This book is divided into an introduction, a first volume, a second volume, and a conclusion. The book attempts to analyze modern Chinese history since the Xinhai Revolution, analyzes the CCP’s “historical errors”, and argues that the People’s Republic of China is a restoration of the autocratic system, while the Republic of China represents China’s path to republicanism. The introduction of the book cites examples of “revolution – restoration – re-revolution” in the democratic revolutions of developed Western countries such as Britain and France, attempting to illustrate that: the CCP’s rule is a “countercurrent” in the process of China’s democratic revolution, the People’s Republic of China is a restoration of autocracy, and the development trend of Chinese history is still democracy, and “autocratic restoration” will eventually “collapse with the unremitting pursuit of democracy and freedom by the people of mainland China.”
