Ma and People Say | The Mysterious Big Boss Behind the Ban on Online Ride-Hailing in Pudong Airport

The ban on online car-hailing services at Shanghai Pudong Airport, which lasted from January 29th to February 3rd, was only in effect for 4 days, making it a farce.

What puzzles people is that, not to mention other major cities with international airports, such as Beijing and Guangzhou, even Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai does not prohibit online car-hailing services, but instead provides convenience for online car-hailing services—online car-hailing services can park at the airport for free for one hour. Why does Pudong International Airport take a different approach, making things inconvenient for passengers?

Reports and revelations from various media outlets have more or less revealed the behind-the-scenes secrets.

Firstly, people found that when Didi, Gaode, and Meituan, among others, were helpless in the face of the ban, an app called “Konggang Feixing” (Air Port Flight) could provide services such as carpooling and chartered cars. It can be said that because of the online car-hailing ban, “Konggang Feixing” gained a monopoly in the Pudong Airport area. And the service price it provides, “360 yuan within 60 kilometers,” is also much higher than the usual online car-hailing price.

According to official data, the number of passengers entering and exiting Pudong Airport during the 40 days of the 2024 Spring Festival travel season will reach 7.73 million.

If the online car-hailing ban had remained in place, even if only one percent of passengers used “Konggang Chuxing” (Air Port Travel), with a single fare of 360 yuan, that would be a revenue of over 25 million yuan; and if one-tenth of the passengers used “Konggang Chuxing”, that would be at least 250 million yuan. And this is only during the Spring Festival travel season. If calculated based on the 54.5277 million passenger throughput of Shanghai Pudong Airport in 2023, it would be even more impressive. It could easily reach billions of yuan in revenue.

What kind of company and who is behind “Konggang Chuxing” that could make the Shanghai Road Traffic Management Bureau and Pudong Airport jointly set up a special situation for it alone? And it’s during the busiest Spring Festival travel season?

After inquiries by the media, it was found that the owner of the “Konggang Chuxing” online car-hailing platform is Hangkonggang (Shanghai) Automobile Service Co., Ltd., established on December 1, 2022, and 100% controlled by a company named Shanghai Konggang Tourism Service Co., Ltd. Further tracing of the equity through the Tianyancha App shows that 99.92% of the equity of Shanghai Konggang Tourism Service Co., Ltd. is owned by Shanghai Xinjiao Port Industrial Co., Ltd.; and Zheng Xiuli, as a natural person, holds 90% of the shares of Shanghai Xinjiao Port Industrial.

It can be seen that “Konggang Chuxing” is actually controlled by Zheng Xiuli, but the legal representative of Hangkonggang (Shanghai) Automobile Co., Ltd. is Chen Weiguo.

And the company successively established branches in Chengdu and Beijing on January 12 and 23, 2024, with Zheng Xiuli as the legal representative. The businesses of the two companies are also consistent with the parent company, both “engaged in the air transport industry.”

After establishing Beijing and Chengdu branches, Hangkonggang (Shanghai) Automobile Service Co., Ltd. has landed in all three dual-airport cities in China.

That’s not all, in addition to controlling Hangkonggang (Shanghai) Automobile Co., Ltd., Shanghai Konggang Tourism Service Co., Ltd. also 100% controls Konggang (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., which in turn invested in 5 similar-named car rental companies at the end of 2023, located in Hangzhou, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and Guiyang. The legal representatives of the 5 companies are all Zheng Xiuli.

It can be said that the layout is far-reaching and very ambitious.

If it weren’t for the strong backlash at Pudong Airport and the online car-hailing ban being set and then abolished, once Hangkonggang Company successfully replicates in major cities across the country, it would not be a dream for this company to have an annual revenue of over 10 billion yuan.

It is worth mentioning that, according to media inquiries, Zheng Xiuli is associated with a total of 10 companies, of which 9 are in existence, including Shanghai Dongmeng Konggang Etiquette Service Co., Ltd., Shanghai Youbaolai Health Technology Co., Ltd., and several car rental companies. Through direct or indirect holdings, Zheng Xiuli has the actual control of 12 companies.

According to netizens’ revelations, during the pandemic, a series of procedures for Shanghai’s foreign passengers entering the country were handled by the companies under Zheng Xiuli.

The strength is actually terrifying!

The “Konggang Chuxing” mini-program operated by Hangkonggang (Shanghai) Automobile Service Co., Ltd. is currently unavailable, and the page displays “Hangkonggang Chuxing mini-program system update and maintenance”;

Shanghai also coincidentally released a personnel appointment and dismissal announcement:

It seems that this online car-hailing incident is a setback for Zheng Xiuli, but the author believes that with the strength and means of President Zheng, she will be able to change the way and make a comeback.

After all, the Pudong Airport ban on online car-hailing has been a hot topic on the internet for so many days, but no media reports have revealed what kind of big shot President Zheng is, which is evident.

While we are discussing macro matters, we should also pay attention to specific individuals, especially the humble lives, because most of us are extremely humble and insignificant.

Caring for others is also saving ourselves.

People are often forgetful, and I list here the human lives that I have previously paid attention to but have not yet had results, as a reminder:

1, Have the three compatriots kidnapped in western Central African Republic in early March 2023 been rescued?

2, Have the murderers who killed 9 compatriots in the Central African Republic in mid-March 2023 been found?

3,  Have the Chinese who went missing in Israel after October 7, 2023, been found?

4,  Has the investigation into the fire at Yucai School in Dushu Town, Fangcheng, Henan, on January 19, 2024, been clarified?
