Bamboo Doesn’t Fall | 45,000 was taken away, 44,000, the real “sadness” you didn’t see!

“The child’s 45,000 yuan in donations, with 44,000 yuan taken by an intermediary,” this news is too cruel, but after reading several reports, I feel that no media outlet is willing to talk more about the “core” issue. I even think that the statement “45,000 yuan taken by an intermediary, 44,000 yuan” is not reasonable.

I’ve also read the news several times to understand some of the problems that may exist behind the scenes. You can refer to it and use it to think (the original text of the incident is posted below, you can read it if you have time).

An ordinary family, whose 11-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a serious blood disease four years ago, and various treatments have exhausted the family’s savings. In this case, parents certainly dare not miss any opportunity to seek help, and at this time, a certain charitable foundation gave them this “opportunity”: 44,000 yuan matched with 1,000 yuan.

That is to say, 45,000 yuan is given to you, of which 44,000 yuan you transfer out, and the remaining 1,000 yuan is a donation to you.

These 44,000 yuan were transferred to the “intermediary.”

So I was thinking about something wrong. The parents in the report are likely to meet the conditions for assistance, otherwise, the approval will not pass, and they will not get the donation. But if so, they have no need to transfer 44,000 yuan to anyone… Even if they dare to transfer, do intermediaries really dare to accept this kind of donation for saving lives?

Thinking about this question, you come to a conclusion: if it weren’t for that “intermediary”, they might not have gotten the money. This is a very sad answer.

You can infer this way: if you meet the conditions for assistance, you should be able to legally and compliantly get this 45,000 yuan donation. The money is directly sent to the hospital, or sent to the parents’ account and is freely used by the parents.

And in this case, any intermediary who dares to say to the parents of the child, “Transfer the money to me,” is simply asking for death.

However, the gene society doesn’t have so much money to give to those parents who have applied and meet the conditions. For example, there is not enough disposable social donation pool, or the quota for this type of project has been used up, or the funds are used for other designated purposes…

If the source is lack of money, what should we do?

According to the rules, you can apply, but in reality, it is likely that the funds will not be approved, so I say this is a sad answer. It is also in this case that a hidden problem appears – the intermediary.

They turn “the money that was originally unavailable” into going through your account, borrowing some relevant proof, and giving you 1,000 yuan of “donation”. It can’t even be called a donation, it’s just a “reward”.

This is the so-called intermediary’s “magic trick”. He has a way to make the foundation “pay”, but this way has a prerequisite: the money cannot really stay with the parents, it must “go around and come back”.

The parents’ account is just a legal springboard.

Those who can think to this level are actually all clear-minded people. The most heartbreaking thing about this matter is still the reality. In fact, the lack of transparency in some charitable fundraising in the past few years has continuously undermined public trust, leading to fewer and fewer people willing to donate. Today’s situation can be predicted. If this is coupled with the economic trends of the whole world, there is even less to say.

Therefore, the mines laid by those corrupt officials in the past will sooner or later be fully realized in the lives of the bottom people. Just like the prayer collection of the British poet Donne said:

No man is an island, entire of itself.

Every man is a piece of the continent.

If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less.

As well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were:

Any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Finally, the most chilling part of this matter is that for such 1,000 yuan (and also paid more than 200 yuan for the invoice), the parents still have legal risks. But they have no way out. Their 11-year-old daughter is seriously ill, their savings are exhausted, all regular channels have been tried, and the assistance they can get is very limited… And at this moment, someone tells them: “As long as you cooperate, you can get some money”.

I think, in this case, it is difficult for them to calmly say: “No, there must be a problem here.” It’s not that they are stupid, it’s that they have been pushed to the wall.

In fact, I originally wanted to say that without this intermediary, the parents of the child might not even get seven hundred yuan… But I also have to mention another problem: this kind of thing is further destroying public welfare, making donors more suspicious, and also adding fear to the parents, which will also taint the truly clean projects with suspicion.

In this way, my purpose is to tell you some of the operational logic that I have thought about, and that the media is unwilling to mention. As for right and wrong, pros and cons… I can only say that in this complex and powerless world, you can never describe its right and wrong and black and white with a few simple words.
