“As a word, ‘living’ is full of power in our Chinese language. Its power does not come from shouting or attacking, but from enduring, enduring the responsibilities life gives us, enduring the happiness and suffering, boredom and mediocrity that reality gives us.”
My thoughts are a bit chaotic today, so I’ll write as I think.
Let’s first look at the first news item, which is an introduction to a candidate for the city’s moral model and their deeds. This is a middle-aged woman whose husband and brother-in-law suffer from mental illness due to some reason, and her nephew is intellectually disabled. She also has a 90-year-old mother-in-law and two children at home. She did not give up and supported the entire family with her own strength, taking care of all her family members.

Through this introduction, we can see what this woman’s life is like:
After finishing the farm work, she goes to do odd jobs, carrying buckets of ash and carrying bricks… She bought a second-hand “Mammu” to run transportation, and once overturned the car due to lack of sleep; later, she applied for an interest-free loan to raise pigs. In 2019, African swine fever caused all the pigs to die, and she owed hundreds of thousands of debts, but she was not afraid, did not cry, clenched her teeth and continued to persevere…
These two or three hundred words are more bitter than bitter coffee. For a moment, I was wondering whether she was a moral model or a model of suffering. It is said that diligence leads to wealth, isn’t she diligent enough?
Treating other people’s suffering as an inspirational story, and treating other people’s scars as a model, promoting them as a model, what’s the difference between this and hooliganism?
In these textual expressions, she has become a lofty moral symbol and has also been deprived of the reasonable desires of being a human being, as if those sufferings have become glorious honors. Finally, the four words “moral imitation” will become a moral boulder that she will find difficult to get rid of in her life.
The second news comes from The Paper, which filmed a short video documenting a ride-hailing driver’s day.
This ride-hailing driver is a 53-year-old aunt, and this is her eighth year of driving ride-hailing. With the decrease in the price per kilometer, in order to maintain her income, she spends 16 hours a day on the road, almost eating and living in the car, and sleeping during charging. The aunt said that she would go back to her hometown when she couldn’t work anymore.

Currently, this video has opened up comment screening. If we don’t screen the comments, we can imagine what the comment area will look like.
The original intention of the media to publish this news is to encourage everyone to work hard and encourage everyone to work hard, just like the sentence shouted before, “Good days are still ahead”…
However, I only saw the difficulty of making a living. Does she like driving? Does she like this? If it weren’t for the pressure of life, would she be like this? In this aunt, I didn’t see inspiration, I only saw sadness, and I saw the shadow of Xiangzi the Camel.
To be honest, I really don’t know what this is praising. At the age of 53, 16 hours a day, only when charging can I barely sleep for a while.
As expected, the saying is true, as long as you are willing to endure hardship, you will have endless hardship; as long as you are willing to endure hardship, your boss will drive a Land Rover; if suffering can bring success, then the richest man should be a donkey.

I admit that I feel very sad when I see this scene. I don’t know who she is a mother and who she is a daughter, but I can empathize with her experience. There are too many people in this world with similar fates. They suffer the most, but they don’t enjoy any happiness.

I am thinking about what caused all this, but unfortunately, the answer is too complicated. After thinking for a long time, I only thought of one sentence: money flows to people who don’t lack money, and hardship is left to people who can endure hardship.
I insist on writing, and I adhere to the original intention of “speaking human words and telling the truth”, only hoping that my persistence can gradually change this situation, even if it is extremely small and insignificant. But my voice has always been weak, especially in front of certain official media. No matter how hard I try, it is in vain. When the official media stands up to praise suffering, I realize that my voice is so small, which also leads to today’s third news item.
This news is about a 39-year-old man from Shenyang who holds three jobs: driving ride-hailing during the day, delivering takeaways at night, and selling and installing bathroom products during his spare time.
It can be seen that this man is working hard in life. We don’t know why he works so hard, but we can imagine that his life pressure must be very high.
Therefore, the media praised this man: he has a job and a future.
