I watched the press conference about Hu Xinyu, and it was basically consistent with my prior guesses: the on-site evidence supports suicide; the forensic identification supports suicide; the voice recorder certification supports suicide. The entire press conference was smooth and went exceptionally well. The questions raised by the reporters later were also very timely, and the officials could answer fluently by reading from their scripts.
The only regret is that none of the relevant evidence was presented, and everything remained on paper and on the officials’ mouths. For example, the key evidence of Hu Xinyu’s feet, some media reported that the family members believed that the two feet were parallel to the ground (the toes of a suicide victim point downwards, while those of a faked suicide are parallel), while the official press conference insisted that his toes were pointing downwards. There are obvious differences between the two sides, but as long as the relevant photos are made public, it will be clear who is right and who is wrong.
Also, the two sections in the voice recorder about Hu Xinyu’s ‘intention’ to jump off the building were also the most powerful evidence. But they were not announced on the spot, only a few excerpts were read out. The press officer in charge also said that Hu Xinyu’s parents supported the disclosure of the content, but why did they start to be vague later? The key evidence that could have blocked the public’s doubts was made even more suspenseful.
Solving a case is about evidence. Since you believe that Hu Xinyu committed suicide, and all the evidence also shows support for suicide, then why not open the scene, or at least the objects, or even photos to support this conclusion? You describe the evidence in an authoritative way, and I can only say ‘I accept’. But if the evidence only remains on paper, or is demonstrated in the form of an animation, I believe many people still cannot believe it.
Now it depends on the attitude of Hu Xinyu’s family. If they accept all the ‘evidence’ and accept that their son died by hanging himself, what else can we, as bystanders, say? As of the time of writing, there has been no public statement from Mr. and Mrs. Hu.

Previously, Weibo big V Song Zude said that Hu Xinyu’s parents might have been invited to a hotel and lost their freedom on the internet. At first, I didn’t believe it, but today I suddenly found that Song’s Weibo account was banned, so I don’t know whether to believe it or not.
The day before the press conference, various media outlets began to create momentum for the ‘suicide theory’, almost unanimously believing that Hu Xinyu committed suicide. Among them was Ms. Chen Lan, a writer from Jiangxi, who had a very insightful view of the content of the press conference the next day.
I admire these penmen who can solve cases based on psychology alone. I am not well-versed in the subject and can only raise some doubts based on the spirit of science and the rule of law. For example, the widely circulated ‘death note’ about Hu Xinyu, besides ‘difficulty adapting to the new environment and social barriers’, which are common psychological problems for teenagers, the only sentence that can slightly constitute a willingness to commit suicide is ‘It is meaningless for me to exist’.

But even if you don’t need to observe carefully, you can find that this line of words, whether in handwriting or tone, is vastly different from Hu’s other writings. One is sloppy and chaotic, the other is upright and clear, and it doesn’t look like it was written by the same person.
As for problems such as aversion to school and introversion, are these considered serious mental illnesses? Now you can ask any student, and nine out of ten of them hate school and hate homework.
Of course, what we are going to discuss today is not how successful our education is, but a case that involves human life. After Hu Xinyu’s parents arrived at the scene, they said that their son’s clothes were worn backwards. Why didn’t the authorities explain such an abnormal phenomenon?

This question is also one of the key points of discussion in this case. Among them, a netizen who used to work in a nursing home said that after a person dies, they must put on their clothes before the body cools down, otherwise (rigor mortis) they won’t be able to put them on.
And a person who commits suicide in a normal way cannot take off their clothes, or wear them backwards, and then go on the road. Obviously, Hu Xinyu was also a decent person. When Emperor Chongzhen committed suicide, he just chose a tree to hang himself, but Hu Xinyu had to go through mountains and rivers and had to choose a tree in a granary.
The second doubt is also about the scene of the crime. The official report mentioned that the wall of the granary was about 5 meters high. May I ask how a normal person can climb a wall of such a height, and how can they land from a height of 5 meters?
The media said that there happened to be a pile of earth and Hu Xinyu climbed in from here. But the official report shows that there are two trees between the pile of earth and the wall. So how did he flip over directly from the pile of earth? If he climbed into the wall through these two trees, how could there be climbing marks on the wall?
Therefore, the true presentation of the scene is crucial. If it is true suicide, then the public needs to know that the scene does have the conditions for suicide. The official report mentioned that the hanging point was 4.5 meters from the ground. I think even Yao Ming, who is 2.2 meters tall, cannot complete this difficult suicide task, right? What are you going to stand on?
Then the report also pointed out that the fulcrum was a protrusion on the trunk. The key word here is ‘trunk’. In my common sense, I can only understand that a person is hanged by a branch because the whole body is suspended and has nothing to rely on. And the trunk is the main trunk of the tree. No matter how determined a person is to die, they will inevitably stimulate the instinct to survive at the moment of death, and they will grab the trunk no matter what.
Then the animated video produced by the authorities is even more confusing. The trunk actually grew on the wall, like a coat rack on the wall after renovation. I don’t know if the funding was not in place. Instead of making an animation, why not show the real scene to the public?
In addition, there is a non-positive energy forensic doctor who gave such a suggestion. He said that if the suicide was a hundred days ago, then during the process of the body decaying, there will be things like blood and corpse oil dripping, thereby changing the chemical composition of the soil. Therefore, as long as the soil below is sampled, it can be determined whether it is the first scene.

In short, there are still many doubts that need to be solved in this case. For example, where did Xinyu’s glasses fall? How could he not wear glasses for such a serious matter as suicide? Otherwise, how could he go through mountains and rivers to the granary?
Then when did the pile of earth outside the wall appear? If it is fresh soil, then Hu Xinyu had no chance to use these to climb into the granary, because he committed suicide before a hundred days. Such an important place as a granary, the wall is built as high as 5 meters, how could it leave a slope outside for rats to sneak in? These are all mysteries that need to be solved urgently.
Of course, I agree with the rigorous attitude of the police. They sealed off the scene at the beginning, and some reporters were stopped at the entrance of the mountain, saying that they were protecting the scene. But how did the excavator get in later?

As an outsider, I can only say so much. Next, it depends on whether Hu Xinyu’s parents accept this result. Regarding whether the feet of the body are parallel to the ground, why the clothes are worn backwards, and the various supernatural phenomena of avoiding all surveillance before death and avoiding all searches after death. Personally, I find it incredible. If you say that you saw a UFO drop Hu Xinyu’s body and then fly away, then I would rather believe it.
And this, together with the missing population that has disappeared over the years, has been further explained. In the past two days, many people have been forwarding the video account of lawyer Wang Jixin, which records the cases of missing children and teenagers, many of which have just happened in the past week.

Indeed, many people are paying attention to the Hu Xinyu case, and more or less they all have a justifiable fluke mentality, hoping to use this to tear open the mystery of the missing population in China. If they were not abducted by aliens, how could China have so many children missing for no reason? And the aliens seem to be only interested in Chinese teenagers, and there are few cases of children missing in Europe and the United States.
There are also some speculations on the internet about the live organ industry chain. Of course, from the current point of view, the Hu Xinyu case has no evidence to support this conspiracy theory. But the organ transplant industry in China is booming, which is an undeniable fact.
According to Guo Yanhong, director of the Medical Emergency Department of the National Health Commission, in the first ten months of 2022, China completed a total of 17,141 organ transplant surgeries, an increase of nearly 10% year-on-year. People have reason to worry, will this become a new economic growth point? It is reported that it takes an average of 3 years for American patients to wait for a kidney transplant, and how long does it take in China?
Furthermore, driven by high profits and extreme information opacity, will this lead to a series of evil industrial chains? The public’s anxiety is understandable. Every time people want to follow the thread to tear off the whole piece of dirty curtain, but in the end they can only watch one confusing mystery after another sink into the sea.
I found that there are also many seemingly learned people who summarize it as the ‘Tacitus Trap’ and use it to quell public suspicion. But isn’t this ridiculous? The Tacitus Trap means that the government needs to rebuild public trust in an open and transparent way, and defend the rule of law and justice with evidence and facts. It is necessary to allow independent journalists and news media to fully analyze and restore the incident. Instead of asking the public to lower their IQ and wear down the folds of their brain gyri to believe in beautiful illusions.
This is my ultimate view on the Hu Xinyu incident. The lack of procedural justice is the root of all doubts.
